taquitos sounds like a male or female name or could it be either????

It is the Spanish word meaning "little tacos". You add an -ito/a to show that it is "little" or "dear" and to keep the hard "c" sound it's changed to a qu instead and the result is taquito. The word itself is masculine, as are most Spanish words that end with "o".
