The vet called about Darren's blood work, left a message, I called him back the next day and of course he was busy. But he called me back soon after. Darren's BUN and Creatinine are elevated but not drastically like Tamara's was. Any surgery would be very, very risky though. So the options are do the surgery to remove the lump and extract some teeth and take our chances or just not do the surgery. He said that he THINKS the lump is a fibrosarcoma and in the past he has seen that after removing it, it comes back bigger and badder within 2 weeks time. The teeth need pulled but our option for that is long term antibiotic treatment. I opted for NO SURGERY and giving the antibiotic. I give it once a day for 5 days then don't give it for 25 days, then give it for 5 days then don't give it for 25 days. And on and on and on and on........Maybe later, if the blood work is better, we can think about surgery again.
I'm very worried about Darren. He was our first cat that we got when Chan was 16 years old and Darren was 7 weeks old. He's big and fat...lol...and ever since we've had him, I call him, "Itty Bitty" lol. Chan is upset because he was her first cat and loves him very much. And Marlie is a bit upset because she says Darren is the only cat that likes her and doesn't take off running when she gets close.
So I hope I picked the right options.
