Our king cat, passed away last night in his sleep. He was nine and will be sorely missed by everyone. Todd ruled our house. We weren't home so the catsitter called this morning with the news. I knew when he died, though.
We're at Disney World and last night we watched my favorite night time firework show. There was a beautful, bright star that was constantly in my view everytime the fireworks went off. That was Todd. He will live forever and and shine brightly, just like that star. When the finale went off, the fireworks exploded around that star like a thousand points of light. Todd gave us a thousand points of life.
RIP, Todd. We can never repay you for everything you gave us.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Todd. I am sure he is young again, running with the breeze.

Chris and I are just so sorry. Chris was upset for a few moments, but he was more worried about how you and Rich were doing.
I know he's hanging out with Tamara now and probably flirting up a storm. :)

We're doing OK. We had some warning but it's never enough, is it? I had to call the cat sitter and could barely get the message out. It's going to be hard going home and not seeing Todd greet us at the door. I know that Todd has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and there waiting for him was his identical brother, Tyler. They are now sleeping together again like they did when they were kittens. And Tyler is preparing Todd for when he is needed to greet our other four cats.

I got a call on the cell phone as I was driving to get my blood work today. It was Jennifer, the cat sitter we had over the weekend and who found Todd and has to call us with the news.
She was concerned about how the other four cats were taking it and if we were OK. She really didn't care about anything else. She was more worried about our family. She wanted to make sure that Todd's remains were taken care of. She cared.
For anyone who has a pet sitting service in their area, don't hesitate to have them look after your pets while your are away. Jennifer didn't care about her fee - she cared about Todd, about the other cats, and about us. She cared.

Aww, I am so glad that you have people to watch them that really do care about them. How are you doing now?

How are you all doing? (You, Rich and the other cats.)

Thanks for the concern. We're doing fine. Rich can at least talk about it now without choking up. The other four cats are the new cat hiearchy established. Gus (now the oldest male) has taken over as our protector. He makes sure the other three cats are okay and does "drive bys" of us to see where we are. Belle (only female and Gus' litter mate) was scared of Todd and usually hid under the bed most of the day. She's out and about more now (a good thing but a bad thing t the same time of that makes sense). The two youngest ones - Nemo and Meeko are just the same although Nemo just might challenge Gus for the top spot one of these days.
Our next problem - we know there's a stray hanging outside our house and coming up on the porch. We heard him/her last night again. How to resist rescuing this one too.
