Eric took Thunder outside yesterday morning so he could go potty, my dog likes to run around the house to go in the back yard. As they were out there my husband was looking the other way and he heard this loud cawing sound, he turned around in time to see a huge hawk swooping down at my dog, Eric started to yell and run to the dog which scared the hawk away. He said the dang bird was bigger than my dog which only weighs like 5 pounds so the size of a rabbit! I would have felt so bad for Rachel if the hawk would have gotten him! This is her best friend and it so would have broken her heart. I live in the cities but we live on a small lake and every now and then we have seen a owl, deer, fox, cats, dogs, and a few racoons, normal things, I even had a hawk outstide one day on my car, but NEVER have we had a problem with them comeing after my dog before!
