When Kyle Paxman discovered her fiancé was cheating on her just six weeks before their wedding, she cancelled as much of the wedding as possible.
But she discovered that she would not get a refund for the reception and rooms she had booked at a hotel in Vergennes, Vermont.
Determined not to let the money and rooms go to waste, Kyle turned the reception into a benefit for the Vermont Children's Aid Society and CARE USA, an international relief organisation that aims to combat poverty by empowering women.
