Of course they are!! I have 3 frogs. No fur or feathers here. Just noisy frogs :) I think turtles are cute too, I might get one for my boys when they are bigger.

What kind of turtles are they? My uncle used to have this huge box turtle and a little snapping turtle that he'd go out and get bugs for.

Of course turtles are creatures! That's why Rich has stopped the car three different times to help them across the road. The first time he almost got bit because it was a snapping turtle. The second time was here in Georgia and I thought *we'd* get killed because there really was nowhere to pull over but he did his best and then walked back on the road. While he was doing this, a van came the other way but Rich pointed to the turtle and the guy waited until Rich could carry the turtle across the road. The third time was at Disney World of all places. That was at a busy gas station so while I was pumping the gas, Rich was diverting the incoming cars around the turtle.

Yes, turtles are creatures.

i could easily see rich doing that. my sister rescued these two turtles too! they are painted turtles. about a good five inches long. they are hibernating probably until march or april.. they sense when it is time to eat again, and make our life hell once they come out of hibernation. they start hitting the side of the aqaurium and standing against the glass with their little paws up to pick them up so they can eat..they do not eat in the water, they eat in dishpans because they are messy eaters, and we are on a schedule with them! they are spoiled too! they eat shrimp, meal worms, canadian nite crawlers (n in one freaking gulp sometimees) krill, live crickets and feeder fish, and the list goes on. they won't eat the pellets like they say they will. they get a good scrubbing now and again in the kitchen sink, and just let us hold them too do it with a toothbrush. the male is more tame than the female..my hubby goes to pick up the female and she hisses at him, but not with me. the turtles fite too! hehehe. he wants some and she doesn't so for two months a year we watch her push him away and him get upset! ROFL! sounds like humans to me! hehehehe. i can't get a good dang picture of them or i would post one on here :) if i ever do i'll pass it along!

My mom used to feed her turtle (remember Turk?) raw hamburger, too. No way would she buy them shrimp. She never even bought shrimp for herself either, so you know there is NO WAY she is going to buy it for a turtle. lol

Oh yeah, turtles hiss. See my previous post about Rich's encounters with them in the wild. Every single one of them hissed at Rich. The poor things are so defenseless. Hissing and sticking their extremities inside their shells are about it. You know, that sounds like a few people I know :toothy10: .
