help me please,:dontknow: :dontknow: does anyone have any tips on how to get a puppy to stop bitting. she doesn't bit anyone but me. all it took was one time of my BF saying NO and it hasn't happened since. but me i am not done saying NO and she at my hand or hair again. i have held her mouth shut, i have put toys in place of my hand all i haven't done is put lemon or vinigar on my hand so when she bites it tastes horrible. but i don't really want to walk around all day with vinager hands. any other ideas anyone. ps my puppy is 14 weeks on sunday.

I really don't know of an effective way to handle that. But hopefully, she'll outgrow it in time. I'm sure there's gotta be a way to break her of this habit.:dontknow:

I found some sites that might help.
http://www.canismajor.com/dog/bite2.html
http://www.wagntrain.com/PlayBiting.htm
http://www.perfectpaws.com/bite.html
I hope that helps. At least she is really cute!! Maybe get Jer to yell at her the next time she bites you? Maybe that will work.

Just be consistent, Say NO, in a dominate manner and lightly tap her nose. Not enough to hurt her but to show her that it is not a good feeling.

keep going with the toys, and saying "no" maybe try putting her outside when she bites or putting her in a secluded room like laundry or bathroom.. keep in mind that a puppies chewing/biting behaviour is much like a human babies - they are teething also and biting is a sign their gums hurt, so give many many chewy toys and they will grow out of it.

Canine live in packs. There is a hierarchy. Your boyfriend is the Alpha Dog and you are "lower" than him so therefore a playmate to your puppy. The suggestion of having your boyfriend yell at the dog is a good one. But you'll need to establish yourself in a B role and her in a C role. Dogs can develop a feeling that if their Alpha Dog is being "attacked", they will "attack". And by "attack", I mean the two of you getting affectionate in front of the dog. I'm not saying that will happen but it could. Once the hierarchy is established, it's very difficult to move roles around.

Now if I could just figure out my cats....

Bwahahaha! Good luck with that one! Cats think they are the Alpha in the group!
