:dontknow: Hi I just bought some new fish yesterday for my tank, 55 gallons. Does anyone else have a fish tank or knowledge of fish... Mine a a fresh water tropical.. The fish I have are 2 glass cats, pacostomus,2 tiger barbs, mollie, 2 hatchets, farlowella cat, and 2 boa sharks which are the new ones, they are so active and seem to eat all the food. I am a little nervous that the rest may not get enough to eat. So, my question is did I make a mistake by adding the sharks or will they adjust and be ok???? Thanks :a096: :16_5_20[1]:

I wish I could help, but I don't have a clue. I've been wanting fish for a long time but I'm too scared I'll kill them.

The pet store you purchased them at should be able to give you great advice on feeding, and the types of fish that are compatable together.

First off you bottom feeders are just that, bottom feeders. If you are worried that they aren't getting enough to eat, buy skinking food. Also their main food would be fish poop. ;)) So as long as the others are eating, they are pooing and things are good. But still maybe get some skinking food just to make sure.

What Lisa said and also, This may not want to be what you want to hear but the sharks can become quite aggressive towards the other fish. They are VERY territorial. We actually had to put our sharks out of the tank and in to the goldfish pond out the back, because they started to kill all the other fish. They would ram them and swim up quickly and bite them and swim away.
Mine especially didn't like gladd cats. :(

I hope your don't turn out like that but that's my personal experence with them. :(

Group 3. Barbs (http://www.aquariumfish.net/catalog_pages/cyprinids/barbs.htm#barbs), Gouramis (http://www.aquariumfish.net/catalog_pages/gouramis/gouramis.htm#top2), Sharks (http://www.aquariumfish.net/catalog_pages/sharks_eels_loaches/sharks_eels_loaches.htm#sharks), Eels (http://www.aquariumfish.net/catalog_pages/sharks_eels_loaches/sharks_eels_loaches.htm#eels), and Loaches (http://www.aquariumfish.net/catalog_pages/sharks_eels_loaches/sharks_eels_loaches.htm#loaches). Tiger Barbs and Tinfoil Barbs, plus Blue, Gold, and Opaline Gouramis, plus Bala Sharks, Red Tail Sharks, Rainbow Sharks, and White Tip Sharks.
These fish are mildly aggressive and compatible with each other. They will grow fast and need at least a 29-gallon aquarium with warm water. Eventually they will need a much bigger aquarium.
