question for those who make their own pages!?

I want to do some pages like with different things on them like i want a poem on it but i want to be able to add my sons (williams) picture like in the background of the peom do you know how i would do that? is there a certain program or something on the web to help me? I have scrap booking programs, card making programs, but i just dont know how to use it so i am looking to see if there is a simple way to get something in the background with words over top of it?

I have a couple of programs that can do that....Printshop is one and I can't remember the others.....I don't know of any websites though...Sorry:(
