Rottweiler Attack: Man In Court For Murder Tuesday September 26, 09:54 AM
A man will appear in court today accused of attacking the grandfather of a baby mauled to death by Rottweilers, and killing his partner. The 26-year-old will appear at Leicester magistrates court charged with murdering Debra Larn, 47, and assaulting John Brightwell, 50. The attacks happened at Mr Brightwell's home in the Beaumont Leys area of the city on Sunday morning.
It came hours after his grandchild, five-month-old Cadey-Lee Deacon, was killed by guard dogs at a pub in the city.
Cadey-Lee's father Ryan Brightwell said he is "in pieces" after learning that his father had been attacked on the same night he discovered his baby daughter had died.
He told the Sun newspaper: "I rushed to the hospital to find Cadey-Lee was dead.
"The next thing I know, my Dad is being rushed into the same hospital. I'm told he is critical and his girlfriend is dead.
"It's like something out of a horror movie."
